Podcast about New Leadership

On 11th November, my podcast about “New Leadership” went live on www.sgb2.info/DE/Ideen-Koepfe/Podcast/podcasts.html – an information portal for German jobcenter employees initiated by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. I give an impression of my understanding of new leadership, especially in connection with the challenges of digital transformation.

Company Visit to New Work SE

After more than two years of virtual company visits due the pandemic, my students and I are thankful to be invited by New Work SE into its new and modern building in Hamburg´s harbour city. During an inspiring tour through the building, we were impressed by the innovative and fancy office concept, including creative workspaces, relaxing zones and even a “Kiez-Bar” to enjoy the end of the working day with colleagues. After this, New Workers from the group´s various daughter companies like Xing and kunuunuu shared their knowledge and experience with us. We learned how to use agile methods in practice and got insights into sales and change management approaches. Many thanks to Anna Stoffel – you and your colleagues were great hosts!

Virtual Company Visit to Beiersdorf

Today, my students and I followed an invitation for a virtual company visit at Beiersdorf, the Hamburg-based market leader in the cosmetics industry with the vision “to become the number one skin care company in the world”. It was already our second visit. This time, Julian Kupfer and Vincent Tissinie gave us first-hand insights into the company´s digital transformation program Digital Fast Forward. We learned about the new role of IT as being a proactive business partner and value generator following the mission of Change IT. Lead IT. Love IT. The strategy actively involves managers and employees through new digital and participative instruments. The goal is to create a culture that embraces change and to shape a growth mindset. Many thanks to Julian and Vincent for sharing their inspiring concepts and ideas!

2021 – what a year!

2021 – what a year! It gave me the opportunity to be the project lead of a successful large-scale transformation project for a market leader in logistics, ended with facilitating a team development process at a public service organisation, and offered me various smaller projects in between, amongst others for a mobility provider and the Erich Pommer Institut in Potsdam. I am very thankful for being able to leave a footprint by making my clients more successful, satisfied, and focussed.

Positive Review of my book on Digital Transformation!

My book “Digital Transformation in Business Practice” which includes 20 articles from managers, consultants and scientists and focusses on specific opportunities and challenges of digital transformation has a received a positive reaction by Klaus Heitmeyer, the editor of the scientific journal “Ideen- und Innovationsmanagement” (Vol. 47/2021, No., 3, p. 114). In his review, Heitmeyer points out that the book gives orientation and practical support and solutions to those decision-makers facing digital transformation in their organisations. Many thanks to Klaus Heitmeyer for the positive feedback!

Virtual Company Visit to bonprix

Today, my students and I followed an invitation for a virtual company visit at bonprix, a fashion retailer that is part of the Hamburg-based Otto Group. It was already our third visit. This time, we learned about the implementation of OKR in the HR department, the use of Kanban Boards by the management board to increase transparency and foster organization-wide learning, the company´s approach to manage diversity and its ongoing effort to achieve corporate responsibility.

Keynote on Digital Mindset and Cultural Change

The swiss IT company P&I, specialized on HR platform solutions, invited me to give a keynote speech on DIgital Mindset and Cultural Change. Though the subject sounds modern at first sight, the core aspects of digital mindset and achieving a cultural change are rooted in the conclusions that social sciences, philosophy and spirituality came to already decades and centuries ago: the power of intuition, curiosity, openness, focus, and mindfulness.
